Ian Oldaker has demonstrated a number of key aptitudes over his 15-year career as an executive involved in operations and business strategy. The recipient of an MS in global affairs from New York University and a BA in history from Loyola University Maryland, he has provided effective financial leadership of museums and historical sites, managing budgets of up to $20 million and developing revenue streams that more than doubled expected targets. Ian Oldaker has proven ability at introducing exhibits and attractions that result in exponential ticket growth and extremely high customer satisfaction.
Beyond financial direction, Ian Oldaker is shown to be versed in managing people. His staffs have consisted of as many as 125 employees and volunteers, for whom he has developed training programs focused on ensuring visitor satisfaction and exceptional brand representation. Successful in this aim, he guided the Manhattan museum Spyscape to a 4.5 rating on Google and TripAdvisor during his tenure as general manager and chief operating officer.
Also the recipient of an MFA in acting from Brooklyn College, Mr. Oldaker has served as the main media spokesperson for multiple institutions. in this role, he has given interviews to a range of local, national, and international outlets.
Outside of his career, Ian Oldaker has drawn on his aptitudes to support nonprofits including Engineers for a Sustainable World (ESW). Volunteering as ESW’s chief operating officer, he helped develop strategic initiatives and events. Today, he is interested in offering volunteer assistance to a like-minded organization.
